Tempo vs. Your Old Scrubs: What's Actually Different
Quick answer: Compared with many traditional scrubs, Tempo adds four-way stretch, a softer drape from its rayon content, mobility details such as back yokes and side panels, and regular, petite and tall lengths on its women's pants. If your current scrubs already fit well, there is no need to switch.
If your current scrubs do the job, you may wonder what a new line could change. Your old scrubs may be perfectly good. This is a plain look at the details that tend to make a difference, written as questions you can ask of any set you own and compare against Tempo.
How Much Does It Stretch?
Hold your current top up and pull it gently in different directions. Many traditional scrub fabrics have little or no stretch, or stretch in only one direction. Tempo uses a blend of 78 percent polyester, 16 percent rayon and 6 percent spandex that is built for four-way stretch.
How Does It Drape and Feel?
Some scrub fabrics feel crisp when new. Tempo's rayon content gives it a softer, more fluid drape, and its polyester helps it hold its shape. The best test is to feel it, and you can do that in either of our stores today.
How Is It Built to Move?
Check for back yokes, side panels and side vents. Many Tempo tops include these, and the women's zip jacket adds soft knit cuffs. These construction details are what let a garment move with your body through bending, reaching and walking.
Do the Pockets Fit Your Day?
Tempo's women's pants have six pockets, including front slant, back and side patch pockets. The men's zip jacket has five, including a zip chest pocket and two hidden inner pockets. Many styles also add a bungee loop at the shoulder seam for a clip-on tool.
What Length and Size Options Do You Get?
Tempo's women's pants come in regular, petite and tall lengths, and the women's straight leg pant runs from XXS to 5XL. If your current pants always seem too long or too short, length options may matter more to you than any other detail.
A Quick Self-Check
- Do your scrubs pull across the shoulders when you reach?
- Do your pants bind or shift when you squat or climb stairs?
- Do you wish your pockets sat in different places?
- Do you find the length is never quite right?
If you answered yes to any of these, Tempo is worth trying on. If your current scrubs already fit well and feel good, there is no need to change. Tempo is now on the floor at both of our stores, in Philadelphia and Blackwood, NJ, and the full line is online on our Tempo collection page.
